Eel shop shoji screen reupholstery

Today we are working on reupholstering a SHOJI screen.

As many of you may know,

There are many long-established eel restaurants in Urawa where our mounting store is located.

In the Edo period, Urawa had many swamps inhabited by eel and river fish,

It is said that the eel caught there was served to people who came and went along the Nakasendo Road.

Nowadays, eels are no longer available,

However, there are still many restaurants that preserve the traditional taste of eel.

This time, we reupholstered the shoji screen of such a historic eel restaurant in Urawa.
