First, please let us know the dimensions of the piece and your desired delivery date.
(Usually, the delivery time is about 1.5 to 2 months after the specifications are determined.)

If you have any concerns about the design, etc., please send us a photo of your work.

At this stage, we may recommend panel tailoring or a hanging scroll ・ MAKISHI.
(2) Decide the specifications for framing
The basic premise is to determine the dimensions of the frame to match the artwork and the place where it will be displayed.
Please make sure that there is a base to hang the frame, that the base is firmly attached to the base, and that there is no wobble,

If you want to frame a painting or calligraphy, first consider what kind of frame is best suited for the work.
The frames we offer can be categorized into wooden or metal (aluminum) frames.
The thickness of the frame is also important,
If you want to create a sense of luxury ・, a thicker frame will be effective.
On the other hand, if you want to present a simple ・ casual look as much as possible,
・, it is better to make the edges as thin as possible.

In the case of wooden frames, the choice of paint color is also important.
The paint colors often chosen in our store are
Black lacquered with gloss, black lacquered without gloss, meguwa (female mulberry), koimemeguwa (dark female mulberry), etc,
etc. Of course, the appropriate color will vary depending on the work and the space in which it is displayed.
The color will depend on the artwork and the space where it will be displayed, so please consult with us.
How the work is placed in the frame is also very important.
There are three types of framing specifications: “solid”, “drop”, and “floating”.
There are several types of frames.
The thickness of the area around the edge, called the iriko (・IRIKO), ・, can also be selected accordingly.

(3) Receiving the artwork
Once the framing specifications have been decided, we will take custody of the artwork.

If you are sending a piece of calligraphy, you can roll it up into a tube or fold it into a small size,

4) Ordering picture frames
Although it is sometimes misunderstood, we do not make frames at the mounting store.
Whether it is a Japanese or aluminum frame, it is the framer’s job to make the frame.
As soon as we receive a formal request from the customer, the framing process proceeds in this manner.
5) Backing of the work
In parallel with the production of the frame, we proceed with the backing of the work entrusted to us.

When the paper is damp, spread it well with a brush so that there are no folds or wrinkles,

Next, cut the backing paper according to the size of the work.
Then, apply glue to the backing paper that you have cut to fit the size of the piece.

Take it to the top of the work and adhere it by stroking it with a brush.
Apply glue only around the perimeter of the paper, stick it to the temporary stretching board, and let it dry.
This way, when it dries

(6) Stretching the mat
When the picture frame ordered in step ④ is completed, the mat will be stretched in accordance with the details specified in step 2.

(7) Cutting the perimeter of the work
When the lined work is dry, peel it off from the temporary stretching board,
Cut the perimeter of the work so that it is rectangular.
In industry terminology, these is called “kane (90°) out.
If there is any unnecessary blank space around the work, cut it off at this time.
(8) Stretch the work into the frame
Stick the work into the frame.
If there is a request, such as “I want the work to be prominently decorated with stripes around it,” these is the time to do so,

The framing is now complete.
