It is said that our shop was founded in the year when Harukichi Mukasa, the first owner, was 18 years old (31st year of Meiji era).

(There is also a theory that his father, Yoshitaro Mukasa, was the founder.)

The only thing handed down in our family that can be verified is its age,

is the Shogi board shown in the photo above.

It is also known that Eiichi Shibusawa named it “Kyokeikan” .

when the Urawa City Public Hall (now Nakacho Community Center, Urawa Ward) was completed in 1916,

It was made from the scraps of the building.

Harukichi himself made the board for his hobby, shogi (Japanese chess),

On the back of the board, there is an inscription that reads, “Kokaido Kinen Zai KyoziYa Mukasa (Public Hall Memorial Lumber).

This is thought to have been engraved in order to leave a legacy to future generations of his involvement in the work of the public hall.

This is a proof that Mukasa Hyoguten was involved in large-scale public works at that time,

It is still kept in a safe place.
