Folding screen under construction (No.2)

I continue to work on the folding screen in my spare time.

Continuing from the previous project, we pasted the paper guard (kamitsugai) those connects the fan to the folding fan.

In the photo below, four fans are finally connected as one.

While the glue is drying, prepare the cloth for the front.

The rainy season will soon be over and it will be summer! And so it will be summer soon,

I’m going to put a cloth with the image of the sea ・ waves.

This time, I chose a fabric with a pattern called “Seigaiha” (blue ocean waves).

（I bought it at a textile town in Nippori.)

Because the cloth will stretch or shrink when it is first dipped in water,

To avoid making it difficult to work with the cloth afterwards, spray it with a mist to moisten it beforehand.

To make it easier to work with the cloth afterwards, mist the cloth to prevent it from stretching or shrinking.

these is followed by the backing process.

The cloth is wrinkled and sagging as it is, making it difficult to process,

paper is attached to the backing to reinforce it.

But…! I have no photo because I failed in this backing process today.

I don’t know if I will be able to proceed to the next step or if I will have to start all over again from the fabric shopping.

I will wait for the lined cloth to dry before making a decision….
