After the restoration of the folding screen
these is the aftermath of the recent restoration of the folding screen.
The torn part of the work (the main paper) was lined and restored.

The main body of the folding screen was already finished up to the undercoating,
This time, the finishing touches were applied and the rim was installed.

It looks like a folding screen at once.
It is very difficult to put up gold leaf paper because it picks up the slight irregularity of the ground.
Next, the main paper is stretched.

Apply dark glue around the perimeter and water (or light glue) in the middle.
This way, when the glue ・ water dries, the paper will be taut and wrinkle-free.
The photo below shows the paper after it has been successfully stretched.

The restoration was completed successfully.
The color of the gold leaf is bright compared to the fading of this paper, though,
The original screen will become calm and deep with age.
